Gift from God

Here he is! My 15 year old! yup, he's almost all grown up except he's still my baby boy who will always be my favorite son. I have no shame in admitting that he is my favorite son because he's my only son. This child of mine was so difficult to conceive but once he arrived, he changed my life. I spent most of his first year of life worried about one thing or another. He had many many ear infections which caused him to have a speech delay. What's funny is that he would never stop talking but no one understood him ever. I learned early on that my son was meant to be born an easy going kind of child that everyone always liked. He had followers from the time he started pre-school. He is still friends with some of those kids he met in preschool. I think it's wonderful! I remember this one kid in his preschool. His mom would tell me all the time that her son would always ask for Matthew and when he didn't see him he would be sad. He is naturally non-judgemental and has all types of friends. He's not particularly welcoming in that if he has friends over and he gets hungry, he will fix himself something and not offer his friends (in my girl book, I think it's rude) but it works for him and it never interferes with his friendships. He knows my ways and when he wants something he knows how to butter me up. I usually fall for his premeditated buttering but there have been times when I realize what's going on and come out of the daze. He knows just by the look in my eye that he has my heart. I am lucky to have a kind-hearted kid who knows how to treat his mama. Happy Birthday my pity-ann, stranger danger boy. You will always hold a special place in my heart. May you continue to be a humble young man. Love you for all eternity!
